Cellular Services to Remain Suspended Temporarily

Observing first Muharram today and on account of continuous threats from the Terrorist, Government announces temporary suspension of Cellular Services in Karachi and Quetta today. The services will remain block till 7 pm in the evening.

Chief Minister, Federal Interior Ministry Rehman Malik on Friday formally announced to suspend mobile phone services in 2 cities for security purpose adding there was a security threat on Friday, the 1st of Muharram ul Haram. Along with this, strict ban has been imposed on Motorbikers which was later on lifted by Chief Jutsice, Sindh High Court Mr. Mushir Alam.

Both these bans were much criticized by the people as soon as the notification was issued however Government has requested citizens to remain peaceful and cooperate by following these directives.
